Help with stylized credit sequence?

Hi! So I'm putting together a highlight reel of a segment I hosted for
my school's weekly broadcast. At certain points I wanted to insert a
highly-stylized, colored freeze frame of a certain moment in the clip.
I was thinking of the Tropic Thunder credit sequence (where Tom Cruise
dances in the fatsuit to Ludacris).

Anyway, I have the most recent Final Cut Studio, and a lot of time.
What I want to do obviously isn't on par with a major studio
production's credit sequence, but I'd like to do something similar.
