need help naming a movie?

the title of the movie has penny in it. i think it was the main actors
name or the lead actress. its about a guy who is a writer, and at the
end of the movie he made a movie about his experience and gets the
girl at the end. i think it was a 90s film. p.s. like i said before
the title consist of the guys name which i think is penny and the
girls name.
